Iran to Give $50 million to Hamas-led Government

Elder of Ziyon was asking himself why Iran wasn’t financing publicly Hamas. Well, from The New York Times:

Iran said today that it would give $50 million in aid to the Hamas-led Palestinian government after the United States and the European Union froze their aid.

Iran’s foreign minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, announced the donation on the last day of a pro-Palestinian conference here.

“We warn that if the aid is cut and if this continues in the near future, this land will witness a humanitarian disaster and the occupiers and their supporters will be responsible,” the ISNA student news agency quoted Mr. Mottaki as saying, alluding to Israel.

The European Union suspended its $600 million aid package and the United States a $400 million donation after Hamas’s unexpected electoral victory in January. The measures were aimed at increasing pressure on the militant Palestinian group to renounce violence and to recognize Israel.

Sooooooooooooo… the culprits of the humanitarian crisis are European Union and Unites States…And Iran is a humanitarian country

This world is full of idiots.

But as JihadWatch says:

Now we don’t approve of Hamas getting a penny from anyone. Still, this is $50 million that the Thug-In-Chief can’t use for his own galloping nuclear ambitions. And it’s also $50 million unspent by the United States or Western Europe — a small sum, but perhaps someday such sums will be put toward the defense against the global jihad.

Jerusalem and the future Caliphate

JTA – Breaking News

An Israeli Arab leader said Jerusalem will become an international Islamist capital. “Jerusalem will soon be the capital of a Moslem Arab Caliphate, and all efforts by the Israeli establishement to Judaize the city will amount to nothing,” Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, told a weekend rally in Kafr Kassem. Salah, who was briefly accused by Israeli authorities of funding Palestinian terrorist groups, also said the Jewish State was planning to replace the Al-Aksa Mosque in Jerusalem with a Third Temple as part of a “plot” hatched in coordination with the United States.

The Hamas dream

In an interview with the Chinese news agency, Xinhua, al-Zahar spoke about his “dream of hanging a huge map of the world on the wall at my Gaza home which does not show Israel on it.”

“I hope that our dream of having an independent state on the entire territory of historical Palestine will be realized one day.” This dream, he added, “will become real one day. I’m certain of this because there is no place for the state of Israel on this land.

Oh, yeah, and France negotiating with them…

France is helding secret talks with Hamas

A Hamas official confirmed on Monday that France held secret talks with its representatives on behalf of the European Union, a break in the policy of isolating the new Palestinian government. The Palestinian source further claimed that France was attempting to improve relations between the European Community and the group that Israel had urged countries to reject.

HT: Klein Verzet.

I cannot deny that I was expecting this. The EU has a lot of relations with the Palestinians (I think they are the first contributors by far). The worst part of it is that Hamas has again insisted that they will not recognise Israel.

The Definition of Incitement

French authorities are fond of accusing media in other countries of "incitement". As I discussed on the old Trans-Int, French Minister of Defense Michelle Alliot-Marie brandished the charge, for instance, when Ivorian media in November 2004 reported on a massacre of Ivorian civilians by the French military. Some weeks later, nonetheless, Alliot-Marie would be forced to concede that Ivorian civilians had indeed been killed by French fire. (For a look back on the so-called "Hotel Ivoire" incident on its one-year anniversary, see my "The Black Tuesday of the French Army".) But these same authorities do nothing to control incitement in France's own state-owned media – notably anti-American and anti-Israeli incitement: such, for instance, as that constituted by the infamous France2 report of the alleged Israeli killing of the 12-year-old "boy-martyr" Muhammad al-Dura at Netzarim Junction on September 30, 2000. Though France2 officials have in the meanwhile admitted that their attribution of the boy's death to Israeli Army fire was likely erroneous, France2 has yet to broadcast a public rectification or seriously to address the doubts concerning the authenticity of the France2 video footage that allegedly documented the episode. (For details, see the Trans-Int Dossier on the "Al-Dura/France2 Affair" .)
