The faces of Youssouf’s accomplices

These are the faces of the Youssouf's accomplices. Youssouf is the chief of "the barbares", the gang who tortured and killed Ilan Hallimi.

According to Le Monde (only some parts of it are reproduced and translated, for full article, in French go to the linked page of Le Monde):

Translation (in brief): In the portable of Yalda -17 years old- or of Tifenn, 19 years-old, resembles any other teenagrer's PC portable, having stored lots of lovers, school companions, acquaintances of one morning or one afternoon, by alphabetical order. The rap friend, it's called "coups ki dance" -the one who dances-. Under G, we can find "Great bitch", the girl who two years ago stole her lover. AM, he is "my man" or "my husband". under the N, "cheikh G. du Nord", a boyfriend she knew in the Gare de Lyon train Station. Under Y, we find "Youssouf Le Barbare".

Yalda is the teenager who, on January 20th 2006, under orders of Youssouf Foufana, 25 years old, flirted with Ilan Halimi, a seller of mobile phones, in a shop of Voltaire's boulevard, in Paris, before driving him into a trap which ended in his death, on February 13th, after terrible tortures.

She played that role, after been promised between 3000 and 5000 €. It was her friend, Tifenn G, a little brunette less "babe" than Thais' friends on the Internet, from Val-de Marne, but very well set, that recommended her. Tifenn was Youssouf's provider of baits.

Between 3.000 and 5.000 €?. That is a lot of money and yet she did not imagine that she was leading this man into a trap? She was only 17. Who is going to pay a little girl like that so much money for nothing? Because flirting with someone is nothing. If I would have been her, perhaps I would not have thought about this type of thing but yet I would have been suspicious.

Yalda.

Fofana trouve Yalda parfaite.

Yalda, who attends the second level, is goes to Tifenn's school. She is a very beautiful brunette with morbid lips. Her mother, an Iranian, is a political refugee, who arrived in France 6 years ago after her husband's death. Her older sister is mental handicapped. Yalda, was the victim of a "tournante" -a gruop rape-, in the end of 2001, when she was 13. She had been followed by a Minor's Judge and specialized teachers.

Youssouf Fofana finds her perfect. "with you, I can make marvellous things. With your physical appearance, you're going to make millions: all the boys fall for you". Again, he leaves his plan, till the moment of Ilan's kidnapping. He counsels her about "driving her boyfriend" to embrace. Yalda answers that she is ready to take his hand but no more. She also interviews her about his obsessions with the Jews. "He added that we were Arabs and Blacks, that we needed to unite ourselves for supporting each other. I told him I was not Arab and asked him if he was racist. He answered me that he was not, BUT that the Jews were the kings, because they ate the State's money and that he, as a Black, was considered as a slave for State".

Considered a slave for the State? He was not racist and antisemitic yet he said that the Jews were the kings? Of course, he is not a racist. According to UMP, racists are the white people, the "aboriginal" Frenchmen. If not, why do they produce this kind of ads?

But we go on with the article:

Tuesday January 17th 2006. Yalda is carried to the Place de la République and Fofana is with her. The gang chief points out the shops that "belong to Jews": "He knew that, because he had explained me, that one day, there were a Jewish ceremony and he remembered the shops that were closed for that occasion", she said to the police.

Yalda enters a shop, to practice the plan with some sellers. One named Ilan writes gently his phone number in a piece of paper. Fofana is delighted. They go to a panini's bar. One hour later, Yalda calls the poor Ilan to propose him having a beer, the next week-end. She tells it to Tifenn, and she says Ilan is "gentile" and "cute".

Friday January 20th. The fatal day. Yalda has fixed the meeting with Ilan at 22:00, at

From the first moment of their romantic walk, Yalda had seen the three men recruited by Fofana, hidden in a plant,, fixed in the view. She knew the lesson: for giving the signal of assaulting him, she has to say "key". She searches her handbag and says "I do not know where are my keys".. The gang springs over Ilan. "Go", shouts Fofana to the young girl, who runs. The only thing that troubles Yalda is the long cry that Ilan shouts.

And she really did not suspect something? Oh, come on, she is a minor, but I do not think she can be sooooooooooooo stupid. What did Fofana want 3 men to follow them for?

It was only February 14th, the day after Ilan's death -"the afternoon of Saint Valentine", Yalda notes, as she remembers those days as the selfish records of the new lo [she is in love with Jerome one of the gang members]- that the horrible deed is known and takes hold on them. The robot-portrait of Audarey, detailed by the two boys that she had talked with in the phone shop, in January, is at the front page in the newspapers.

In front of the policemen, the girls cry a little. Remorses? They have to be provoked. A compassive word for the victim's torture, about which we have told them? They even do not think of it. "I did it for offering a service to Yousouf Fofana", says Tifenn. "I did not know that we could denounce it anonymously", says Yalda and "Tifenn told me that it wasn't necessary". "I did not say anything because I was scared that they were after me, thinking that I knew more", says Muriel. "For me, it was a a very bad trick. I believed it, but I did not realise it", says Isabelle, other of Talda's confidants.

She did not know what happened, I did it for Fofana,… They really do not care that their role was crucial in the kidnapping (and as a result the torture and death) of Ilan. And they are in their teens. I wonder what they will do in ten or twenty years time, what education they are going to give their sons, and, best of all, what is the future of a country -and a continent- with this future citizens -and their mates- as the ruling class
